How it works?

Simple. Quotelf emulates DialData protocol and intercepts the data requests from your Omega Downloader, then downloads the requested data from Yahoo and passes it back to Omega Downloader.

What symbols are supported?

You can download End-of-Day, Weekly, Monthly stocks, mutual funds, market indices - in short, anything downloadable from Yahoo. Forex, commodity futures are not provided by Yahoo at this moment. Intraday data also can't be downloaded due to limitations of DialData protocol.

Is Quotelf free?

You can use Quotelf for free during 21 days (free trial period). Then if you decide to continue to use it, you need to register. This will require a small one time licensing fee. Future software upgrades, including tech. support are free.

- Where do I get Omega Downloader? : In TS and SC v4 it's a standard component and you can access it almost from any Tools menu in your charting software. In ProSuite it became an optional component and it doesn't install by default. In this case you need to re-install ProSuite package and choose Custom installation. You will be given a list of components which you can install - make sure that you marked Omega Downloader (DialData Downloader).

- Does Quotelf support Global Server? : No. Global Server is not related neither to Omega Downloader nor Quotelf.

- Can I update forex quotes or commodity futures? : No. Yahoo doesn't provide such data

- Why I can't update valid symbol "HOT-UN.TO" ? : Although being valid on Yahoo, this symbol is invalid for DialData protocol which limits the length of the symbol by 8 characters. But the solution still exists. Read about Yahoo aliases.

- What about international exchanges? : Quotelf can download any domestic or international symbol for which there's historical data available on Yahoo. Please click here and verify whether Yahoo provides the data for the ticker in question.
